Paxton Hunter McCoy, Sr.

Funeral services for Paxton Hunter McCoy, Sr. will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 in the chapel of Melancon Funeral Home with Fr. Jack Michalchuk officiating. Burial will be in the Pythian Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Mr. McCoy, age 72, of Bunkie, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 in the family residence. He graduated from Bunkie High School in 1956 and was Baptized in the Baptist faith. He was a retired farmer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, golf and cooking for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurie and Myrtis Newman McCoy and two brothers, Roy McCoy and Carlton McCoy.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Mary Jo Ducote McCoy of Bunkie; two daughters, Karen D. McCoy of Bunkie and Lisa McCoy Hannie of Lafayette; three sons, Paxton H. McCoy, Jr. and wife, Renee, of Bunkie, Craig S. McCoy and wife, Connie, of Bunkie and Douglas S. McCoy of Bunkie; one sister, Kathleen Howard of Lafayette; fourteen grandchildren, Beau Iglinsky, Amy Iglinsky Glenn, Adam McCoy, Hunter McCoy, Katie McCoy Hebert, Luke McCoy, Garrett McCoy, Morgan Greenwood, Lacey Hannie, Alex Hannie, Nicolas Hannie, Jake McCoy, Julia McCoy and Dal Earnest and six great grandchildren, Baylen Racine, Maddux Iglinsky, Colton Iglinsky, Cayle Iglinsky, Layla Cates and Emmalin McCoy.

Pallbearers will be Hunter McCoy, Garrett McCoy, Douglas McCoy, Beau Iglinsky, Adam McCoy and Gregory McCoy. Honorary Pallbearers are Nicolas Hannie and Alex Hannie.

Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 from 4:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
