Funeral services for Olive Armand will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25,
2012 at Church of The Little Flower in Evergreen. Burial will follow at a later
date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of
Bunkie.Mrs. Armand, age 90 of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012 at her residence. She was born Sepember 10, 1921 to Mary Gaspard and Olezim Rachal of Cottonport and was raised in Evergreen. She then met Ellis Armand, Sr. and married September 26, 1939. Upon this union three children were born; Ellis, Jr., Diane and Glin. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ellis (Dub) Armand, Sr.; her parents, Mary and Olezim Rachal; three brothers, Willis, Raymond and Felix Rachal; and two sisters, Mildred Robson and Della Gaspard.
Survivors include her two sons; Ellis "E.J" Armand, Jr (Barbara) and Glin Armand (Debra) all of Bunkie; and her daughter, Diane Onishea of Bunkie; eight granddaughters, Mojave (Clay) Suitt of Horseshoe Bay, TX, Tonya (Frank) Guillory of Cottonport, Lisa Onishea of Bunkie, Nicole Armand of Horseshoe Bay, Tx, Yolanda (Leo) Ferguson of Bunkie, Felicia Brodnax of Alexandria, Kim (Leon) Ferguson of Bunkie, and Cheraka Montalvo of Bunkie; two step-grandsons, David (Deena) Pipes of Cottonport and Jamie (Celeste) Pipes of Morgan City; 12 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday until 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. A wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
