Funeral services for Johhny Edward Bordelon will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Fr. Edwin Rodriguez officiating. Entombment with full Military Honors will be in the St. Peter Corridor of the St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Hessmer under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie. Mr. Bordelon, age 61, of Hessmer, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at the Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville. He was a retired veteran of the U S Air Force with twenty-one years of service to his country. After retiring from the Air Force, he served as General Manager of KAPB, was self-employed and then was a state employee for a couple of years. He enjoyed going to the camp with his friends and was a member of the Bayhills Men's Supper Club. He loved spending time with his four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe E and Maxine Wooley Bordelon and his two brothers, Joseph L.and Paul Rudy Bordelon. He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Patricia Duplechien Bordelon of Hessmer; two sons, Vance Bordelon and his wife, Kaylon of Deville and Chad Bordelon and his wife, Melissa of Deville; four grandchildren, Austin, Nathan, Bailey and Kailey; two sisters, Jo Ann Moreau and Julie Roy both of Hessmer; and Mary McQuary of Baton Rouge; two sisters-in-law, Dianne Bordelon and Judy Bordelon, both of Alexandria; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of very good friends. Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie on Monday, Mar. 1, 2010 starting at 5 pm with a rosary service at 6 pm and on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 8 am - 10 am.
