U.S. Veteran Funeral services for Udolph Alpough will be at 11:00 am, Friday, March 12, 2010 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Goudeau with Fr. Bartholomew Ibe officiating. Burial with a Military Honor Guard will be in the St. Charles Cemetery under direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie. Mr. Alpough, age 78, of Goudeau, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010 in his residence. He was a veteran of the US Army, having retired from the Louisiana National Guard. He was a resident of Port Arthur, TX for over forty years, thirty-three of those years working for Gulf Oil Company. When he retired from Gulf Oil, he moved to Goudeau, where he became very involved in the community. He was a member of the Goudeau Volunteer Fire Dept. and St. Charles Catholic Church. He was also a paper carrier for the Opelousas Daily World. Survivors include two sons, Zachary Alpough of Bossier City and Christopher Alpough of Houston, TX; three daughters, Famia Alpough of Arlington, TX, Janis Alpough and Mary Alpough both of Mansfield, TX; three step-sons, Martin Guy of Houston, TX, Oscar Guy, III of Lemoyen and Joe Guy of Evergreen; three step-daughters, Lisa Breaux of Lafayette, Earline Hill of Lemoyen and Viola Guy of Houston, TX; three brothers, Nick Alpough and Timothy Alpough both of Port Arthur, TX and Gregory Alpough of Houston; four sisters, Hermion Jacquet of Port Arthur, Earline Claude of San Bernadino, CA, Cynthia LaCarte of Evergreen and Dianne Alpough of Beaumont; a special friend, Evelyn Readoux of Goudeau; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and the mother of his children, Barbara Alpough.
