A native of Cottonport, he died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at his home in St. Gabriel. Eddie had worked as a consultant in oil refineries both at home and abroad. At the time of his death, he was employed by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. He was also a decorated Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Army. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Wednesday, Dec. 17, was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael Alello. Interment in Hope Haven Prairieville Cemetery. Survived by two sons, Trevar Jeansonne and girlfriend Allie LeBlanc, and Kyle Jeansonne and wife Michelle; grandson, Collin Jeansonne; and brothers, Ronald Jeansonne, Gerald Mayeaux and Leslie Jeansonne. Pallbearers will be David Gremillion, Ben Lemoine, George Lemoine, Jeremy Easley, Chris Mitchell and Cid Dillard. Honorary pallbearer is Adam Gremillion. He always opened his door and his heart to anyone in need. He will be sorely missed by us all.
