Roderic A. (Buster) Rozas

Roderic A. (Buster) Rozas, 83, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his wife and children. He was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Plauchevillle, past member of the Avoyelles Parish School Board, served his country during WWII in the Army Medical Corps, and was a lifelong cattleman and farmer.

Beloved husband of 60 years to Mary Lou Ducote Rozas; loving father of Lawrence Rozas and his wife Donna Gauthier of Sunset, Walter Rozas and his wife Peggy of Cottonport, Margaret Juneau and her husband Ronald of Cottonport, Ric Rozas and his wife Becky of Cottonport, Becky Rozas of Baton Rouge, Beverly Fitzgerald of Las Vegas, Peter Rozas of Plaucheville, Johnny Rozas of Plaucheville, Tommy Rozas and his wife Didi of Baton Rouge, Amy Juneau and her husband Clay of Sunset; Texas; six grandchildren, thirty three great - grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Gene Rozas and his wife Mary Frances of Baton Rouge, Paul Rozas and his wife Em of Baton Rouge, and Ken Rozas and his wife Trudy of Austin, Texas, and his sisters, Barbara Reid, Alice Ducote, and Joan Thevenot all of Cottonport.

He was preceded in death by his son Patrick, his sister Rachel Gaspard, his parents, Walter and Elnora Rozas.

A memorial mass will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Plaucheville at 11am Friday, March 27, 2009. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to either the Alzheimer's Association, the American Heart Association, or Hospice Care of Avoyelles.
