Beryl Slocum Normand

A funeral mass for Beryl Normand will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Goudeau of the Rev. Ibe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mrs. Normand, age 59 of Evergreen, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.
Beryl was a devout member and volunteer at St. Charles Catholic Church where she served on the finance committee and the Beautification of St. Charles Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Doris Armand Slocum; and a brother, Steven "Poke" Slocum.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Gerald Normand of Evergreen; her son, Chadwick Normand of Baton Rouge; her daughter, Kristi and husband Shaun Siebeneicher of Alexandria; a brother, Lacy Slocum of Eunice; her grandson, Austin Siebeneicher and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Thursday and 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. A rosary will be recited by the Bunkie Knights of Columbus at 7:00 p.m. followed by a wake service on Thursday.
Pallbearers will include Shaun Siebeneicher, Kent Normand, Ronnie Turner, Ted Juneau, Caleb Bergeron, and Gerald Paul Adams. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus Council #2395 of Bunkie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Charles Cemetery Beautification Fund, P.O. Box 20, Evergreen, LA 71333, or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure , Attn: Donor Services, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.

Beryl was a frequent contributor to www.EvergreenLa.org  It was my good fortune to communicate with her about Evergreen, Goudeau and the St. Charles Church.
