The fourth annual Festival of Quilts will be held October 4 & 5 at the Cottonport Museum, 208 Cottonport Ave.  Persons wishing to enter a quilt for display should contact Donna Mayeux 876-3797.  There is no charge to enter.  “Last year we displayed 75 quilts some more than 100 years old and others brand new.  Both hand and machine quilted quilts are accepted. Prizes are awarded in all categories.”

The Festival kicks off early with a 5K Run/ 2 Mile Fun Walk. At 10 a.m. there is a children’s parade, where kids ride their bikes, trikes or pull their wagons around the town square.  Arts and Crafts vendors will be displaying their wares just in time for early Christmas shopping. The Museum opens the doors to the show at 9 a.m.

Quilts will remain on display through October 24.  Admission to this annual Museum fund raiser is $2.00.  Anyone wishing more information on any aspect of the Festival should contact the Museum at 876-3517 or the show chair at 876-3797. Submitted by Donna Mayeux
